How Millab e01 differs from Timemore Grinder Go which looks similar?
First of all, Millab and Timemore Grinder Go are products of the Timemore brand. Secondly, The Millab e01 is a version of the upgraded Grinder go. From the structure, battery, motor, material, burr have been greatly upgraded, the size is also smaller. The Millab can support espresso and pour-over coffee, and has three times the battery capacity of the Grinder Go. Newly developed S2C 890 burr, less fine powder, more balanced flavor.
Millab e01 Battery life and how to replace it?
Battery life is 5 years, you can purchase the battery circuit board with us, but we do not recommend replacing it yourself.
What is burr size of Millab e01?
42mm
What is the size of the hopper?
Capacity: around 30g
Could you share any information about tolerance levels and burr alignment on the 64mm and 78mm versions? On some electric grinders, it is difficult to align burrs and the process requires significant shimming
Indeed shimming is used in some electric grinders. But for our grinder, rather than shimming, burr alignment is achieved by perfecting the grinder parts. We also make factory tests on each grinder before shipment to ensure the grinding quality. Therefore there might be some coffee retention inside the grinder.
How does adjusting the RPM of the grind affect the coffee taste?
RPM affects the particle size, when the speed is slower, there will be relatively less fines and a relatively higher concentration; when the speed is faster, relatively more fines will be produced.
Will both sizes of the grinder have espresso burrs as an option or just one size in particular? Will the 64mm support third-party burrs, eg SSP?
Both 064S and 078S are equipped with espresso burrs (Flat Burrs). We do not recommend putting third-party burrs on our grinder.
Can the 180w motor in the 64s model handle with SSP burrs?
Yes it can, but we do not recommend putting SSP burrs on our model.
Will the Sculptor be available in a non-US configuration, i.e. 220v/50hz, multiple plug styles?
The Sculptor is only available in a US configuration (110V/60Hz) and not in 220V/50Hz or other international plug styles.
Are the burrs interchangeable? Can I swap flat burrs for turbo burrs of the same size?
We would not recommend changing the burrs on your own.
Taking 078 and 078S as an example: 078 and 078S not only have different burrs, but also have different 0 grind distance.
At 0 grind, the distance between 078 burrs (turbo burrs) is bigger. The finest grind is just enough for Moka; While the distance between 078S burrs (flat burrs) is smaller and can grind fine enough for espresso. Even if you replace it with 078S burrs, it cannot grind espresso as the distance is set. It is not just about the burrs, but also the 0 grind distance.
It is possible to replace 078S burrs with 078 burrs theoretically. However, reassembling it on your own could lead to various issues. It may cause misalignment between the burrs and that grinding consistency will get decreased. If there is a large deviation, it might even make the burrs get stuck and damage the device. Warranty will get invalid if you are against above.
Is the dosing cup 58mm in diameter so it can fit the portafilter? It would be appreciated, at least for the 78s version. Are you planning to launch some espresso accessories as well (e.g. some sort of portafilter holder).
The diameter of the cup is around 57mm therefore it fits the 58mm portafilter.
If the espresso supporting versions 064S & 078S will have stepless adjustments or it will be stepped? In case it will not be stepless, how big will be individuals step adjustments ?
Yes 064S and 078S have stepless dial adjustment
Would these grinders work well with dark (oily) beans? Or are these designed for lighter (specialty) roasts?
Yes they work well with both types of beans
Between the 064s and 078s what would be the quality difference strictly speaking for espresso apart from the grind time?
Since the size of the burrs is different, the larger the burrs, the higher the grinding consistency, therefore 078s has a relatively higher grinding quality.
So on Youtube I saw numerous Sculptor with a glass-like/clear Bean Feeder. But on the promotional video here it;'s all solid. Are the clear ones only on early models ?
078 and 078S have clear bean feeders, while 064 and 064S have solid ones.
